We’ve been aiming for $4.00 on clothing, hoping to get to $5.00. But we’re struggling with hard goods. What is a realistic goal?

Like all good metrics, the answer is “it depends”.

To start, consider what is actually in your hard goods. Is it largely low-dollar toys and kitchen utensils or high-dollar art and home decor items? (You may want to break out these items in both your processing metrics and retail metrics if you don’t know but need to know.)

After recognizing what is included in your hard goods category, you should be able to make a good initial estimate and then make changes to your target over time.
